THE FISH
We have invested heavily into the stock here at Lychgate Lillies and we are proud to boast fish to well over 40lb, with numerous 30lb plus fish.
We have a tremendous head of young carp in the 20lb range, all of which are absolute stunners!
FISH STOCK
We have stocked 94 carp into the lake, plenty to keep bites coming, but by no means overstocked. We want our anglers to catch fish, but not at the expense of underweight and poorly conditioned carp.
Undoubtedly, the king of the pond is the The Big Lin, a simply mind blowingly beautiful carp, with brown flanks and huge immaculate linear patterns on either side. We have no doubt that he will be the one that everyone wants to catch, and as of spring 2026 he weighs a whopping 42lb!
Next we have the big common, just shy of 40lbs and fully expected to be over the magical 40lb mark in 2026.
We have a raft of back up 30lb plus carp, many of which have not been caught yet, with a stack of 20lb carp coming through, stunning scaley ones, and more sparsely scattered mirrors, we really do have something for everyone.
We have also stocked a handful of smaller upper double carp, these are the future of our fishery, young fish that will grow and grow to become the A Team of the future.

THE BIG LIN - 42lb
A more stunning carp we cannot imagine.
Chestnut flanks and huge sovereign like scales, words simply do not do this carp justice, see for yourself!
THE BIG COMMON 38lb
The only common carp in the lake and an absolutely stunning common, immaculate and with a huge frame, yet still proportioned as a carp should be.
We have no doubt that the BC will become a truly HUGE carp.
There are 11 other 30lb plus carp to be caught with many more upper 20's who will make it to 30lb in 2026.
